Our way of life is becoming framed by an increasingly repetitious reportage of shootings, bombings and the massacre of so many innocent souls. We are told to be vigilant, to be careful and watch out for our safety. We are told to report any suspicious behaviour and to be on our guard in public places.
There are real risks, of course. The reports of people with guns running around our streets are testament to that. They want to kill us, stab us to death or to behead us with a sword, whilst these verminous monsters will set off explosions to kill and destroy the lives of as many people as possible. They seem to want us laying on the pavement, the floor of the shopping centre, or in pieces as we bleed to death.
