How do you find your balance

The elements in life that require the most balancing can be divided into two categories: internal and external. Most of the time, people focus on one more than the other. Hence unbalanced.

 You may find that you focus on external things,like work, relationships, and activities, and that you pay  little attention to what is going on inside your heart and mind.

On the other hand, you may find that you spend so much time being self reflective that you sometimes miss out on the experience of living.

Other people may be fairly balanced between the two but might want to balance out some specific elements within each category. Is it not worth our time reflecting where we put most of our energy and try to change where we put our energies. 

Thus color does not only give pleasure, it also has a purpose. Imagine life without the color of nature! It would indeed be dull and monotonous: the sparkle of life will not he there. Color also has brought up problems. The whole problem of racial discrimination is connected with the color of the human skin. Men are hidebound in their narrow beliefs and have not yet learnt to value the variety of color and have not understood nature's purpose behind this.

Black is a popular non-color, often worn to suppress and protect the emotions. Any color worn with it is a paradox since it represents unrealized potential. The promise of power that black evokes lies within the consciousness of the wearer. Combined with another color it augurs control over its influence. With red it controls physical power and yellow intellectual power. White on the other hand highlights a color and worn alone symbolizes a clean palate, completion, purity, cleansing, and strength. The challenges of white are those that accompany a new start, anger, vulnerability, and tears. Gray is the combination of black and white and symbolizes the diversity of the two creating a state of caution.

Apart from recognizing whether something suits you or not, an inner sense tells you which color to wear. Deny this feeling and you could be ignoring a benevolent influence. For example, red increases energy and promotes free movement. For a woman it can reflect changes in the reproductive cycle such as menstruation or ovulation. If you have a sudden desire to wear red it could indicate that you are about to experience a tiring day and need all the help you can get. Interestingly when traffic lights were first introduced people had great difficulty stopping for the red light because on a psychological level red means GO and green means STOP.

* The yellow in corn protects against macular degeneration, the number-one cause of blindness in the elderly.

* The orange in carrots and sweet potatoes helps prevent heart disease by lowering cholesterol and helps reduce the risk of stroke.

* The green in dark, leafy greens helps prevent cancer.

* The blue in blueberries helps protect memory and motor function as you age, and helps fight cancer and heart disease.

* The purple in Concord grapes and grape juice helps prevent heart disease.

So when you’re filling your shopping cart or your plate, think the more color, the better!

Color is a fundamental element of environmental design. It is linked to psychological, physiological, and social reactions of human beings, as well as aesthetic and technical aspects of human-made environments. Choosing a color palette for a specific setting may depend on several factors including geographical location, characteristics of potential users (dominant culture, age, etc.), type of activities that may be performed in this particular environment, the nature and character of the light sources, and the size and shape of the space.
